Print Screens Of The Front Cover

Using photoshop to complete my front cover. After picking my colour scheme green, purple and black i decided I would use two colours for my title so I made a smaller green O inside of a larger black O this makes it more indiviual which a indie magazine should be because indie means individual. After looking a lots of magazine a lot of them use graphics so i decided to use a circle and include one of my coverlines inside it. Every magazine includes a slogan i put mine next to the title because they both relate to each other. When doing my coverlines in included lots of different fonts this engages the reader and gives them something to look at.
When i inserted my image i had to move a lot of my things around that i had already put in like resizing some things to and changing the colours. An example of this would be a graphic that i used being the black circle because my image includes someone holding a vinyl you couldn't see the black circle because they both looked to familar. Therefore i changed it for a rectangle shaped box that was clear and inculded all three of the colours. I also added the barcode into the left hand corner because without this it isn't following the codes and conventions.

After deciding i wanted a complete change of colour after looking at more music magazine i realised most of them used red so i incluede red, blue, black and white. I started changing my colour scheme by changing the smaller O to red. Then i changed the colour of my first coverline so it included red, blue and black i also has to change the size because this wasn't my main cover line so i had to make it smaller therefore people wouldn't think it matched with the image.

I then added the same slogan that hadn't changed from my very first attempt but made it smaller due to looking at the size of slogans on other music magazines. I also placed it under my title because it looked better and fitted more under the title instead of above. I then thought i should start the main coverline which linked to the image. Photoshop helped me do this by getting a satin finish in the red writing and having a white glow outside the text this relating to the image it makes her look like she is a glowing artist also having the whole thing in capitals relates to the picture because it shows she's in charge and not affarid to stand out.

To make the main coverline stand out even more i added 'Reveals all' to add graphics i also added a white box for it to go inside this grabs the readers attentions because its a block colour this is importand because the words reveals all makes the reader want to find out more about the artist.

To give my front cover more of an edger look a made reveals slant so the corner was just touching 'Karlea B'. I also added the coverline 'The story behind V' which was on my very first attempt of the magazine but this time i made the letter V go behind the text which realtes to the coverline it is also bolder this helps it stand out more. I added another coverline at the top of the page in itallics because its exciting being the only thing in the magazine you can win.
After looking at my magazine i realised it needed to be more full so i added another coverline because looking at magazine front cover i realised they were alot more busier than mine. Each word is a different colour, font and size to grab the audiences attention.
Being the only thing you can win in my magazine i thought it should stand out more so i made it a banner across the top of my page because looking at music magazine front covers lots of them include a banner either at the top or bottom of the page. To finish my magazine off i added the barcode at the bottom right hand corner with the price and date in smaller writing underneith. With out this i wouldnt be following the codes and conventions of a magzine.
